Corporate Law

company-formation

Corporate law, or company law, is the backbone of modern business and it is therefore of paramount importance for every enterprise to take on board quality advice in relation to corporate matters. At Chetcuti Cauchi we offer an array of corporate law services, catering for small businesses to large multinational corporations alike, in all their corporate law requirements which may arise from time to time.

Maltese Corporate law

The Malta Companies Act of 1995, Chapter 386 of the laws of Malta, stands as the primary piece of corporate legislation in Malta. The Act is largely based on common law principles, but has also over the past years been brought in line with the relevant EU directives.

The Malta Registry of Companies, housed under the auspices of the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), is the regulator for the day-to-day matters relating to companies in Malta. Together with the MFSA, the Maltese Registry of Companies is committed to Malta’s growth as a prime European financial centre, as well as safeguarding the interest of the public in all matters relating to corporate law. To this effect, our clients can rest assured that they are dealing with reputable, commercially aware authorities.

Companies are the preferred method for international business to be conducted. Maltese companies are considered to be useful, flexible vehicles for a number of reasons; they can be formed within quick turnaround times, capital requirements are low, bank accounts can be held in third countries and business can be easily conducted internationally. Consequentially, the Maltese Registry of Companies has seen significant growth and played a pivotal role in Malta’s emergence as a leading financial centre.

Cypriot Corporate Law

Cypriot Law provides for clear and precise provisions in relation to company incorporation up till dissolution. This well-organised procedure of structuring and organising a company has been instrumental in making Cyprus the attractive market it is today. At Chetcuti Cauchi we have carried out extensive research and familiarised ourselves with Cypriot legislation and procedures. Therefore, we are able to assist various clients with their daily administration issues and conformity with corporate legislation in relation to any corporate matters.
